Thailand Makes Coffee?

30/8 2024
Coming from Denmark, a country known for avid coffee connoisseurs, we already knew a lot about coffee and different producing countries. However, Thailand had only just entered our lives as a vague notion of a place that produces coffee and nothing more than that. Boy, were we surprised when we entered into the world of Thai coffee.
We've had so much coffee in Thailand it almost made us dizzy, visited so many coffeeshops that we've gotten interior design confused and enjoyed so many different flavour profiles that is almost impossible to find a favourite. We've narrowed it down nevertheless and divided it up into, Bangkok, Chiang Mai (North Thailand) and the Islands of Koh Chang, Koh Lanta and Koh Phangan. As mentioned it has been very hard to pick out the top of the pops because there are so many great places to visit. All with their own distinct vibe and clientele that adds to the bustling atmosphere.

Bangkok

Bangkok, a city renowned for its vibrant culture and bustling streets, also has a growing specialty coffee scene that’s capturing the hearts of coffee enthusiasts. During our recent trip to this dynamic city, we had the pleasure of visiting two exceptional coffee bars: Aribica Coffee Bar and Kudos Coffee Bar. Both offered not just a caffeine fix, but an experience that lingered long after the last sip.

As mentioned it has been very hard to pick out the top of the pops because there are so many great places to visit. All with their own distinct vibe and clientele that adds to the bustling atmosphere.

Aribica Coffee Bar

Nestled in the trendy Ari area, Aribica Coffee Bar is a place that exudes minimalism from its decor to its menu. The clean, sleek design creates a calming atmosphere, allowing the coffee to truly shine as the main attraction.Known for their precise brewing techniques and high-quality beans, Aribica has earned its reputation among the best in Bangkok. We ordered our go-to Piccolo latte, a perfect choice for those who appreciate a strong yet smooth coffee experience. The baristas here clearly know their craft—our Piccolo was well-balanced, with the rich, robust flavor of the espresso shining through, softened just enough by the creamy milk. It’s the kind of drink that makes you slow down and savor each sip.We loved the nerdy approach to brewing coffee and we hope that they exude this on all their locations, yes they have several. The beans they use are sourced from coffee farms in the north of Thailand and they are proud about it, that is for sure.Location: 4, 1 Soi Ari 1, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10400

Kudos Coffee Bar

Located in the hip Silom neighborhood, Kudos Coffee Bar is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a community hub.The warm, welcoming vibe of Kudos makes it a perfect spot for catching up with friends meeting for lunch but grabbing a brilliant coffee one the way. They have 2 locations and we tried the small coffee bar hut.At Kudos, we couldn’t resist ordering a Cortado, a favorite that never disappoints. Kudos delivered a beautifully made Cortado with a rich, strong taste that was balanced by the perfect amount of steamed milk. The espresso was bold, and the milk was silky, making each sip a harmonious blend of flavors. It’s the kind of coffee that leaves a lasting impression—strong, smooth, and satisfying.Location: 14, 1 Silom 19 Alley, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500

Chiang Mai

Akha Ama Coffee

Akha Ama Coffee Bar is more than just a place to get your caffeine fix—it’s a testament to sustainable and ethical coffee production. Founded by Lee Ayu Chuepa, a member of the Akha hill tribe, this coffee bar has become a symbol of social responsibility in Chiang Mai. The cozy, inviting space reflects the brand’s commitment to community and quality. We tried the Cortado here, and it was an experience to remember. The espresso, made from beans sourced directly from local farmers including Lees very own sister who grows the challenging Geisha. They have many varieties and they show quite the pride in offering this gold from the highlands. Our coffee was intense and flavorful, perfectly balanced by the smooth, silky milk. Every sip told a story of care and craftsmanship, making it clear why Akha Ama has earned such a stellar reputation. The decor is a testament to the founders design ideas and visions of bringing the best and most sustainable coffee to its customers.Location: 9/1 Mata Apartment, Hassadhisawee Rd., Chang Phueak, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50300

Maled Coffee Roasters

Nestled away on 18 Old Airport Road in Su Thep, Maled Coffee Roasters is the kind of place that makes us wonder why we hadn’t discovered it sooner. With its unassuming exterior, it’s easy to pass by without noticing, but once inside, we were greeted with the warm, rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee that instantly made us feel at home. For those who love coffee as much as we do, Maled Coffee Roasters feels like a sanctuary. The moment we walked in, we could tell this place was different. It’s clear that the folks here take their coffee seriously, from the selection of beans to the meticulous brewing process. Their attention to detail is something we really appreciate. The menu offers a variety of options, but for us, it was their Piccolo latte that stole the show. Smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted, it was evident that a lot of care went into making this drink. The first sip was a revelation—a burst of flavor that made us pause and just savor the moment. If you’re a fan of the Piccolo latte, you absolutely must try it here.Location: Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200

Roa8tery Coffee

Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Chiang Mai, Roast8ry Coffee Flagship Store is a destination that promises an unforgettable coffee experience. If you’re a coffee lover like us, this is one spot you’ll want to make a beeline for. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into creating a space that not only showcases their exceptional coffee but also provides a comfortable and inviting environment for coffee enthusiasts, expats and locals. The menu at Roast8ry Coffee is a testament to their commitment to quality and we have to say that it was impressive. With so many coffee variations to choose from and signature blends, it was heaven. We were particularly impressed by their diverse selection of single-origin coffees. Each cup is brewed with precision, highlighting the unique flavors and aromas that make every sip a delight. Their signature drinks, such as the smooth Cortado, are crafted with the same level of detail and passion that defines their approach to coffee.Roast8ry Coffee Flagship Store isn’t just a café; it’s a hub for the local coffee community. It’s clear that they’ve created a space where people come together to enjoy great coffee and connect. There’s a sense of community here that adds to the overall charm of the place.Location: 24, 9 soi 17, Suthep, Muang, Chiang Mai 50200

Baristro at Train Station

When it comes to finding a café with character in Chiang Mai, The Baristro at Train Station stands out as a must-visit destination. Located in a charming setting, this café combines great coffee with a distinctive atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. We passed this place many times, finding it a bit dull in appearance at the facade, but stepping into The Baristro at Train Station, we immediately noticed the intriguing blend of historical charm and modern coffee culture. The café is situated in a beautifully restored building that was once part of the old train station and its decor is raw and true to old history. The coffee here is exceptional, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship. The baristas are very skilled and put a great deal of effort into creating well brewed, well tasting coffee. We were particularly impressed by their expertly brewed espresso drinks. The menu offers a variety of options, but their Piccolo latte stands out as a must-try. With its rich flavor and creamy texture, it’s clear that a lot of care goes into each cup.Location: 46/1 Rotfai Alley, Tambon Wat Ket, เมือง, Chiang Mai 50000

The Islands of Thailand

Koh Chang

Tastory Cafe

Tastery Cafe at Pearl Beach isn’t just a cafe—it’s a little haven where coffee lovers can find solace and everyone is treated like a friend. If you find yourself on Ko Chang, make sure to stop by, order a piccolo latte, and experience the magic for yourself. The coffee is exceptional, the staff are delightful, and the location is simply perfect. Trust us, you won’t want to leave.Location: Tasty Pearl Beach, Tambon Ko Chang, Ko Chang District, Trat 23170

Koh Lanta

Escape Cafe

When you’re on Koh Lanta, finding a spot that serves up great coffee in a relaxed setting is like striking gold, but because it can be far between the good ones. Escape Cafe is one of those places that does just the right thing, and it’s become a favorite of ours for all the right reasons. If you’re someone who loves a good, strong coffee that’s not too heavy on the milk, try their cortado or piccolo late. Escape Cafe knows how to brew. The coffee is rich, full of flavor, and has that perfect balance between the espresso and the creamy milk. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you stop and really appreciate the moment, no frills, just pure, well-crafted goodness. The staff here are genuinely friendly, and they go out of their way to make sure you feel at home. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, they greet you with a smile and make sure you have everything you need. It’s the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation or just enjoy the peace and quiet—it’s up to you.Escape Cafe on Koh Lanta is one of those hidden gems where you can enjoy a top-notch piccolo latte and soak in the island’s easygoing vibe. The view of the ocean is truly spectacular. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a cool spot to relax, this cafe should definitely be on your list. The friendly staff, delicious coffee, and chill setting make it a must-visit when you’re on Koh Lanta.Location: 472, Sala Dan, Ko Lanta District, Krabi 81150

Koh Phangan

Cookies Cafe

On Koh Phangan you have numerous options for getting high quality coffee. The plethora of cafes cater to all palates, types and shapes and sizes. However, when it comes to a good well brewed, rich flavoured, strong cortado, Cookies can't be missed. The place is inconspicuous and is easily missed on your scooter ride to or home from the beach. The only dead give away is the packs of people in and outside of the cafe. But what the place lacks in decor or facade show off, they make up for on their Barista skills. The in-house Barista is just enough nerdy and accurate to give off that "We know we are good" attitude and the coffee is the bomb. The cortado packs the punch and is well served in a un-pretentious sort of way. We actually find the cortado here to be the best and strongest on. the island. The customers show up in beach shorts, shaggy pants, thongs and bikinis and it kind of goes, in this well played establishment without feeling uncomfortable. The staff are friendly and kind, but seem to have this " No bullshit" attitude and it works all the way. without ruining anything. It's a cool place where you come for your morning Joe and croissant, a peaceful retreat or a quick chat with the other caffeine addicts in town. We love this place and recommend you to check it out.Location: 33/10 Ko Pha-ngan, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani 84280

Kia Ora Cafe

This place was a surprise. We drove by and felt a coincidental urge to check it out. It is a small-big place squeezed right in between 2 buildings. It looks small on the outside but they have 2 floors and amazing homey decor and it feels very spacious when you go inside. Its almost always bustling with health conscious yogis, tourists, lost Neo-hippies and coffee thirsty Mocha hunters (like us).The staff are so welcoming and smiling. The barista is excellent and the vibe is just really nice. Every time we have been there, we just want to stay and nestle ourselves in their sofas for a coffee and a nap. A very heartwarming place. The cortado is very tasty. It's leaning towards the strong side but well balanced and looks amazing served with a small leaf plate of a gooey chocolate brownie dice. Nice touch. The owner is German and have a knack for styling because it's followed though all the way. We feel so well treated every time we visit.Footnote: They have a dangerous Almond Croissant with a filling to die for. Try it and you won't be disappointed, but be warned...It is addictive.Location: 20 12 Koh Phangan Surat Thani 84280

Indigo Cafe

This is a big place and 1 one of 2 locations. We tried the one near Hin Kong. The other is located in Thong Sala. The place is a large and full on cafe and restaurant. It is alway bustling with people and is especially popular with families. We were actually not on the hunt for coffee this day, but felt an urge overcome us when we walked inside and saw the huge barista setup and their enormous selection of pastries and cakes. Especially the vegan selection. It looked amazing and when your mouth waters, you need to fulfil the instinct of sugar and caffeine. To our surprise from a place this big, the coffee was one of the best we have had. Way more to the acidic side but so well balanced on the flavours that we became instant fans. When cafes become very large, they often skip on the barista side to cater to as many people as possible in the shortest time possible. In this case, they nail it every time and we are very satisfied. We recommend the strong cortado. It's strong, punchy and has a great acidic side to it that makes it stand out.We come back once in a while not only for the coffee but to try out different selections of their cakes. They have so many, so it might takes us a while to go through them all. But definitely a place to recommend.

Fina Thoughts

We hope this blogpost has given you some inspiration and motivation to try out coffee in Thailand. We have been many places and not once have we had bad coffee. Sure, we have tried good and not so good, but never bad. They are proud of their coffee nature and you can taste it and sense it through the coffee communities. One of the reasons that coffee from Thailand is not more well known is due to export issues and the price tags that follows it. So they produce a lot for themselves and they really enjoy it and experiment with. We feel very lucky to be able to savour the coffee profiles from this country and we have become big fans of Thai coffee. Maybe so big, that we might consider the coffee to be some of, if not the best in the world. But of course, that is subjective. Please go there and try for yourself. We think you will be very happy.

Cacao, Cacao, Cacao

In addition to our passion for coffee, we have also built up a great passion for good quality Cacao in its purest form. We have had the pleasure of living with Cacao farmers in the Amazonas in Ecuador and thereby gained a great knowledge of cacao in its pure form. So it is with much joy that we today are working with this very fine cacao, directly traded from the Amazonas of Ecuador.
We feel proud within our hearts when working with this high quality cacao.
Not everyone knows about the origins of Cacao, neither what a Ceremonial Graded Cacao actually is. So we wrote this post, to give you some beautiful facts about this. The origins of cacao can be traced back to the ancient civilizations of Mesoamerica, where the Aztecs and Mayans cultivated the cacao tree. Cacao was used in religious ceremonies and later as a luxury drink mixed with spices. Both Mayan and Aztec cultures had cacao as a staple for centuries, and cacao had a place in these empires as a sacred and highly ritual plant.
What is Ceremonial Graded Cacao?
Ceremonial Graded Cacao refers first of foremost to a premium, pure cacao that is ethically sourced from small family farms that practice regenerative forestry.Ceremonial graded cacao, is made from a single ingredient, whole and raw cacao beans, with nothing added or removed.
Cacao Ceremony
Cacao Ceremony often refers to the use of cacao in spiritual or ceremonial contexts. The Mayans and the Aztecs used cacao in their ceremonies with a desire to connect with, be guided by and learn from cacao.Cacao ceremony is therefore said to be an opportunity to listen and connect with oneself.
Facts for Ceremonial Cacao
The cacao dose for ceremonial use is often between 30-40g cacao per cup and this is said to give a heart-opening feeling as well as a mild increase in energy in the body due to the high content of theobromine in the raw cacao.
Traditionally, Criollo beans have been preferred in ceremonial cocoa due to their complex flavor profile. The Ceremonial graded Cacao from Banfield, is made from the Ecuadorian Arriba Nacional Criollo beans , famous for its unique aroma and taste, representing one of the world's finest and oldest aromatic beans. The Choice is yours
As the cacao from the Banfield Shop is a premium Ceremonial grade cacao, you can use it as a wonderful Ceremonial Cacao. But you can also enjoy it, simply as a very delicious varm cup of delightful - “drink of the Gods"- Your choice.

Our Top 3 Coffeeshop Picks in Bali + 1 Chocolate Treat Pick

We spent almost 8 months in Bali and Nusa Penida. During that time, we had a lot of coffee. Firstly because we love coffee but also because Indonesia produces some of the worlds finest coffee. From the volcano highlands of Bali we got the opportunity to try many different varieties and through this, discovered some great coffee shops that respect the coffee heritage and add the 2 most important ingredients, passion and love, that ultimately provides you with the best coffee experience. Here is our top 3 picks in no particular order.

BGS Coffeeshop , Ubud

n Ubud, there are many coffeeshops that serve excellent coffee. However this place sticks out partly because of their industrial designed coffeeshops and their nerdy way of preparing the coffee. They have several outlets, but the Ubud location sits on Jalan Penestenan and looks like something from a factory. Smooth concrete surfaces and androgenic interior boasts a seamlessly barren and soulless look but the when go in and feel the vibe, music and people, it all changes into a place you just want to hang out at for hours. They prepare the coffee with ease and passion and they have, as mentioned, a nerdy approach to it. But always with a smile and hospitality. The coffee is good and strong and our favourite, the Cortado, is served well and smooth. Good aromas and perfectly tempered. We love it.If you love cosy and quaint little homestyle coffeeshops, don’t go here. But if you like, concrete, steel, hip and cool vibes, this is for you. The coffee is amazing and the experience was really good. We would come again for sure. You can find BGS Coffeeshop atJalan Penestenan, Sayan, Kecamatan, UbudKabupaten Gianyar

UBUD Coffee Roastery

Part of 3 different shops that are all good, this particular one is at Penestana kaya and is just a small place with not many seatings. However, the lack in size does not prevent people from queuing up outside in the morning to get their coffee fix. Us included. This place is amazing. The baristas are so friendly and they were so forthcoming towards our son Elliot. A very big plus in our book. The design of the shop is simple and sleek and our favourite places were 3 chairs in the window overlooking the busy little street. We had the best coffee here. It varied a little depending on who served it but overall it was strong and punchy and had such a good aroma.Their pastries were also really good. Especially their croissants from the day before which they grind up with marzipan and spray into a new croissant. Just amazing. A must try.The place has a really buzzing vibe almost all day and you get to be a regular very fast because the baristas are attentive and remembers you. Very cool.We loved this place and spent way to much time and money here, but it was all worth it. We are longing to go back. You can find Ubud Coffee Roasters atJalan Cemp. Putin, Sayan, Kecamatan, UbudKabupaten Gianyar

The Island Grocer Cafe, Sanur

This place took us by surprise. We had been staying in Sanur for a few days and were on the lookout for a place to get some good coffee. We had tried some other places but we were not really satisfied. We drove by this place one morning and couldn’t really make out if it was a coffeeshop or not. The name also fooled us bit.We ventured in and to our very happy surprise it was a coffeeshop and eatery and it had a really nice mediterranean vibe to boot. Extremely comfortable atmosphere and such friendly baristas. It was a kind of underplayed vibe. Almost resembling the sleepy feeling you get when it is siesta in Spain. We loved it.The coffee? Outstanding . Really nice and well served. We tried different kinds and they were all nice. Good flavour profiles, perfectly tempered milk and looked great. A true treat. They also had a small health shop inside which was very cool. This place became our favourite spot quickly while in Sanur and we felt very welcome all the time.Good coffee, skilled and friendly baristas and a wonderful dreamy atmosphere. What’s not to like?We are definitely going back again when in Bali. You can find The Island Grocers Cafe atJalan Danau Poso No.92A, Sanur, Denpasar Selatan

The Best Chocolate Raw Cake You Could Wish For

In Ubud (yes, the city has it all) at Penestanan area, there is a small grocery shop and Juice Bar on the Jalan Banjar Road. It is called "Made's Fruit Juice Bar"It looks like a small shabby shop, but make no mistake. They know what they are doing. They have a small assortment of fruits and veggies and make fresh juice. But that's not why we mention them.In the back they have a couple of refrigerators and in one of them, sits a few plates of some of the best raw cakes we have ever tasted. And in respect to this post, we want to emphasise the chocolate version. It is absolutely delicious and mouthwatering. It melts like silk on your tongue. The cacao taste is rich, creamy and fulfilling. The price is fair and the experience is wonderful. We could not figure out what type of chocolate she had been using to make this, but it was definitely high grade. If you are in Penestanan are and feel the urge for a chocolate bomb delight, we recommend swinging by this place and trying out the gold in the refrigerator. You will not regret it.You can find Made's Fruit and Juice Bar atJalan Banjar Penestanan Kaja No.52, Sayan, Kecamatan, Ubud

Our top 4 coffee shop & 1 chocolate picks in Copenhagen

We thought it would be suitable to make a list of our favourite coffee bars for the places we are fond of and visit most in CopenhagenWe have visited and stil visit a lot of coffee bars and it is truly hard to narrow down the best of the best, because we have been to places where the coffee was excellent but the service was not up to par and vice versa where the coffee tasted like something from yesterday, but it did not matter because the charismatic people working there made up for it with their likeable beings. But still, we thought if we listed the 5 best, in our opinion, where the coffee was like sipping from the cups of heaven AND the owners, baristas and employees were amazing, we at least could show you in a direction we think would be worth while. So, take a look and maybe you will find the desire to go to one of these places, or all of them and see if your taste buds feel the same as ours. You can also see more pictures from our visit to these great places plus more at our Instagram @banfield.shopHere are our top 5 picks in Copenhagen, in no particular order.

Original Coffee, Torvehallerne

We start with the new (old) BIG BOY in town. We all heard about Starbucks, weather you like it or not. And if traveling in Scandinavia, your definitely also heard about Expresso House. But Copenhagen got a new big boy. And he is made in Denmark by some childhood friends, so of course we had to give him a try.His name is Original Coffee - Opened its first shop on wheels in 2010, opened is first physical Coffeeshop in 2012 and have recently opened the number 18 shop in Copenhagen. Busy boy we must say.And to be very honest, we love it!! The coffee is actually spot on! And we have never been disappointed by the barista staff as well. Always smooth delivery with perfect tempered milk in our all-time favourite Cortado. We also had the espresso and cappucino. But the Cortado wins our hearts here as well.We always had a good coffee at Original Coffee and that is quite something. Because we all know, that you can have an amazing coffee bean, but if the Barista on duty treat it wrong, then the experience goes bad. Sad but true. Our favourite spot is actually to visit the tiny 12,5 kvm Coffeeshop inside Torvehallerne Copenhagen foodmarket. As we like the vibe here and reminds us of the many food halls we have been visiting around the world (check out our private travel site @thewildchildspiritAnd as Elliot like to shred on his BMX, it’s also great doing some sunny hours, as Israels plads is just outside, so you can bring the coffee to go, and enjoy it in a buzzling good vibe area.So if you are planning a trip to Copenhagen, we can by heart recommend Original CoffeeThey are located at Torvehallerne KBH, Hal 2 Stade A9 Linnésgade 7, 1362 København K

Glean, Torvehallerne

Denmark is well known for its MANY cozy Coffee shops, but not as known for its chocolate. But as Chocolate lovers, we of course had to find our favourite place in town to get our Chocolate fix. This post is not really about clean chocolate in it’s pure form, but about a danish speciality called “Flødebolle” - say that twice please !It’s basically a marcipan base with cream on top and then dipped in chocolate. At Glean you will get THE VERY best! Our favourite is the Mocca/Salty caramel! We do not think we have to explain further!! It’s insanely good! And we will miss this treat, when leaving Denmark in a few weeks. They also make a really great alcohol free affogato with smooth Vanilla ice cream and espresso. And then Elliot’s favourite, the Flødebolle icecream, which are made with crunched flødeboller into the smooth vanilla icecream, and then poured into a waffel! Damn Glean , you hit the spot, and to be honest we happen to visit you many many times duing our stay in Copenhagen. It’s located in Torvehallerne - Copenhagens big foodstall market. And they just opened a new spot in Kajen at Fisketorvet shopping center. But we only go to visit our favourite spot in Torvehallerne as if you have followed us along, you already know that this foodmarket is one of our favourite spots in Copenhagen. If you are in Copenhagen do not miss out....Just don’t! Go to our instagram post for more pictures and videos of the yummy treats we had here. Copenhagen Chocolate HuntThey are located at Torvehallerne KBH, Linnésgade 7, 1362 København K

Funders, Frederiksberg

This is one of our absolute favourite coffee spots for a sunny day, as this place does not have indoor seating, but yet the best outdoor seating in town !Funders has 3 spots, but the one we love, is the little coffeeshop located right at the entrance of Frederiksberg Have / Frb. RunddelWe absolutely love to enjoy a Coffee in their garden area. Especially in the late spring when all he flowers has bloomed. The Vibe is always very buzzing and fresh in the morning at this very spot. The coffee is always spot on! Creamy, mild, and yet with a punch. The barista staff always has a smooth delivery with perfect tempered milk in our all-time favourite Cortado. We also had the espresso and cappucino. But mostly we go for their Cortado. We never had a bad coffee at Funders , and we had many coffee’s here during our 1yr stay in Copenhagen. We prefer our coffee in ceramic cups, but this spot is our favourite for a coffee to go, as we then bring it into the always calm and cozy Frederiksberg Have for either a stroll or to find a soft sunny spot, where we can read some books with Elliot - which we are homeschooling due to our travelling around the world. You can read more about this at our personal Travel acc @thewildchildspiritBack to the Coffee - if you are planning a trip to Copenhagen, we can by heart recommend the coffee at Funders. They are located at Frederiksberg Have entrance, Frederiksberg Runddel 1A, 2000 Frederiksberg, Danmark

Den Goe Kaffebar, Frederiksberg

This place is a little gem in the city within the city, Frederiksberg.Den Goe Kaffebar is nestled nicely on Frederiksberg allé, between the beautiful Linden Trees, and the cafe is run by a passionate and very kind man. He roasts his own coffee and bids you welcome to a cosy place where you can sip on coffee, teas and other great beverages. They have excellent pastries and food as well. The cortado, our favourite coffee which you by now know, is well served and pack a decent punch with plenty of aroma and they don't even charge you extra for oatmilk. Total win there, when you are used to adding 5kr extra for that at many other places. There is a distinct French vibe going on in the area and the cafe enjoys this as well. Sitting outside, putting out the vibe and enjoying your coffee and croissant could easily fool you into thinking you were sitting at Montmartre, Paris with all the bustling and happy chitchatter surrounding you.The cafe inside has a rustic and qaint feel to it, with plenty of lounge-like seating and some places that are laptop free. Excellent choice for us that love to go to a coffee bar for just the coffee and not work. So, if you find yourself in the Frenchiest part of Copenhagen, don't cheat yourself out of a visit to Den Goe Kaffebar. You won't regret it.They are located at Frederiksberg Allé 42a, st tv, 1820 Frederiksberg, Danmark

Risteriet, København V

We found this place by accident. Normally one of us researches a new coffee shop to check out and more often than not, it turns out the place is either closed, don’t have what we want or the vibe feels wrong. So, standing there in the street, we often have to do a quick research and find a second option and nine out of ten times, it turns out to be some of the best places we’ve been. Risteriet is exactly that.Located at Helgolandsgade 21 in Copenhagen, you walk down a few steps and find yourself in a cool and nerdy coffeeshop. At this location, they don’t do the actual roasting, but the company has been around for some time and are located several places. This however, was our first visit and it was very good. The barista that day, was welcoming and kind of nerdy around the coffee. Had great knowledge and passion for everything coffee and we had a good conversation. We ordered the Cortardo, duh-uh!, and it was very well made. Good flavour profile, nice dark notes and a round finish. Excellent. We added a croissant to the order and it was baked on site and just the right addition to the experience. At this location, they also have equipment for the home brewer, roasted beans in many profiles and green beans for the home roaster. We bought a kilo of Honduras single origin. Very pleased with that. So, go check out Risteriet and try some of their different flavours. You won’t regret it and if you feel up for nerd talk, don’t be shy. They are more than willing to talk. They are located at Helgolandsgade 21, 1653 København V, Danmark

That was our top 5 picks in Copenhagen and we hope you will get inspired. Perhaps you also, like us, have a passion for brewing your own coffee and in that case, take a look at our shop and find some great products for just that.We travel a lot and visit a lot of places and its not all about coffee and chocolate but also about living it, seeing the world, and spending time with our son.
